Thousands told to use their phones to access the internet

Mobile Monday MalwareMalware Monday has come. At 12:01 a.m. on Monday, the FBI turned off Internet servers that were functioning as a temporary safety net to keep infected computers online for the past eight months. According to reports, relatively few have been affected – Roughly 42,000. Considering that there are millions of Internet users across the country, several thousand losing access isn’t a big deal – unless you are one of them. ;0)

What I found interesting as news sites and stations were reporting the upcoming deadline, almost all of them were telling readers/viewers that if they have not protected their systems they may find themselves having to access the internet via their… smartphones. Seeing how over 50% of cell phone users in the US own a smartphone, that means over half of the population have an alternative means of access to the internet.

Think this might be heading somewhere?
